Custom Map and Coordinate Engravings: Marking the Places That Matter
A set of coordinates or a small map can say more than a paragraph. Here's how to pick the right place and get it engraved correctly.

Some places matter more than the address suggests. The spot where you met, the church where you got married, the first house, the family camp, the hometown you left. A set of coordinates or a small map engraved on wood is one of the simplest ways to put one of those places on a wall.
Coordinates or a map?
Coordinates are short, clean, and work well on small pieces like keychains and ornaments. A map shows the streets, the water, and the neighborhood, and works better on larger pieces like signs and cutting boards. Some people do both: a small map with the coordinates written underneath.
Places people actually choose
The most common ones are the place a couple met, the wedding venue, the first apartment or home, the family camp or cabin, and the hometown of someone who moved away. We also see coordinates for a favorite fishing hole, a hunting spot, and the place where someone proposed.
How do you get the right coordinates?
Open a maps app, press and hold on the exact spot, and copy the numbers it gives you. Double-check them before you send them. One wrong digit can move the location by miles, and an engraving can't be undone. Send us a screenshot of the map along with the numbers so we can match them.
Which looks better, a street map or coordinates only?
It depends on the piece and the place. Dense city streets get busy fast on a small item. A rural area, a lake, or a coastline usually reads beautifully. If the map is complicated, we can simplify it by removing small streets and keeping the main roads and water.
What can it go on?
Wood signs, cutting boards, coasters, keychains, ornaments, and tumblers all work. The piece you choose decides how much detail the map can hold, so tell us what you're picturing and we'll tell you what to expect.
Send us the place and the piece, and we'll sketch out how it will look before anything is cut.
