Hunting Camp Rules Signs: Funny, Serious, and Family-Approved
Every camp has rules, and most of them live in somebody's head. Here's how to put them on the wall where everyone can see them.

Every hunting camp has rules. Most of them live in somebody's head and get explained to new guys at the worst possible time. A rules sign solves that, and it's also one of the best-looking things you can hang on a camp wall. Here's how to get it right.
Pick a tone before you pick a font
Camp signs fall into three groups. Some are serious, with real safety rules and no jokes. Some are funny, the kind of thing guests read twice and laugh at. And some are a mix, with a couple of serious rules at the top and a few jokes underneath. Decide which one your camp is before you write anything.
What should go on a camp rules sign?
Safety goes first if you want it on the sign: unload before you come inside, treat every gun as loaded, know your target. After that, chores, quiet hours, who cooks, who cleans, and what the cost is for leaving the gate open. Then add the inside jokes that every regular will recognize. Guests who read the sign will feel like they're already part of the group.
How many rules is too many?
Five to eight is a good range. Past that, the letters get small and nobody reads it. If your list is long, split the serious rules onto one sign and the fun ones onto another, or pick the ones that matter most and leave the rest to conversation.
Make it big enough to read
A sign that's hung inside the door should be readable from a few steps away. That usually means a bigger board than people expect. Tell us where it's going and how far away someone will be standing, and we'll help you size the lettering so it works.
Add the camp's name and the year
The camp name at the top and the year it started at the bottom turn a list of rules into something that looks like a piece of family history. If the camp has been in the family for generations, that detail is worth a few extra letters.
Send us your rules and your camp name, and we'll help you figure out the layout and the size.
